Welcome to Belclare NS.

Mission Statement

SN an Croí Ró Naofa (Belclare National School) is a co-educational Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Archbishop of Tuam. It strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure environment where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.

Positive Relationships

Good behaviour in a school is based on good relations between parents/guardians, child and school. In SN an Croí Ró Naofa (Belclare), we hope to foster this ideal in co-operation with our parents/guardians and Pupils. We have adopted a positive code of behaviour with emphasis on encouragement and reward so that good behaviour and a positive atmosphere can prevail in our school.

Opportunities for Pupils

The children are encouraged to participate in many sporting activities e.g., football, soccer, hurling, rugby, basketball, handball. With plenty of variety, there is something that will interest every child.

Each break time, the children play in the yard with supervision in their class groups, where a variety of sporting activities / games take place.

Pupils in all classes visit the school library once a week. There is a large variety of books suitable to all age groups and interests.

Children get an opportunity to contribute to the Mission Statement

There are activities on offer both during the school day and after school which you might like to avail of for your child, such as Irish dancing & music classes for the older children.

Pupils are offered opportunities to take part in school outings such as school tours, attending a play, nature trails, maths trails, walks in local areas and sporting competitions etc.

Belclare NS take part in initiatives such as Maths week, Science week, Engineering week with outside coordinators coming in to school to support teachers and pupils in their learning in these areas.

Technology plays a big part in pupil learning, with all pupils having regular access to the school iPads / laptops.
